nude photography workshop in North Carolina
Asheville, North Carolina will be the base for our newest workshop, and I’m excited for the opportunities we will have.  With the  higher humidity levels found in the area, we will find lush meadows, verdant forests and beautiful waterfalls.  All wonderful backdrops for a nude photography workshop.  The models will include professionally trained dancers, and there will be a 3:1 ratio of students to models. Maximum of 9 participants.

I’m particularly excited about this because my good friend Steve Murray, of MagicLight Photo Adventure Tours, will be organizing this course. Steve is a native North Carolinian, and knows the area extremely well. So even though this is my first workshop in the region, we are sure to be led to some magical places.

Our time begins with an evening program and portfolio review on Wednesday night when we will get together for a short presentation on the history of fine art nude photography, and review the portfolios of the attendees. We’ll also go over the camera settings that will best serve you in shooting nude photography on location, and answer any technical questions you may have about digital workflow.

Thursday we will start out early and shoot until around noon. When we break for lunch, we’ll take time to go over any technical or aesthetic questions that may come up. Then it’s back to shooting in dramatic afternoon light. Friday and Saturday will be similar in structure, but will include time to include a review and critique of the past day’s work. We wrap up with a final critique on Sunday morning.

For this to work best, it is recommended that participants shoot with digital cameras and bring a laptop for editing. Although you are welcome to shoot film, feedback on your efforts would certainly be limited.

Cost: $1495. Maximum of 9 participants
